Appfluent Visibility for Data Warehousing consists of a set of distributed processes that work together to create a non-disruptive process for continuous watching, storing, and analysis of all queries generated by BI users and applications against your Data Warehouse. These queries and end user activity are correlated with data usage and database performance metrics in the Appfluent Repository. The Appfluent dashboard and reporting application provides detailed usage and performance metrics and analysis.
Appfluent Watcher
The query workload is monitored via ‘packet sniffing’ on the network ports by a component called a ‘Watcher’. Since the monitoring is via network packet sniffing, the Watcher is designed to run 24/7 and collect all the workload with no disruption or performance impact on production systems.
Appfluent Analyzer
The Analyzer parses the monitored data stores the analyzed information related to Users, Apps, reports, data and queries into an IBM DB2 or Oracle repository.
Appfluent Repository
The Appfluent repository stores the monitored and analyzed information in an Oracle or IBM DB2 database. The repository is designed as a open and extensible star-schema that can be used to quickly develop custom analytics.
