Tim Meyers
Tim Meyers is a General Partner with Updata Partners. Tim joined Updata Partners in 2000 from The Morino Group (TMG), where, as President, he managed a portfolio of more than $200 million in public and private investments. While at TMG, he also oversaw a number of direct investments including Proxicom (bought by Dimension Data) and Image Communications (bought by iXL).
Previously, he was CFO of the Brandon Company, a real estate investment firm, and a CPA with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells involved in structuring and evaluating LBO and M&A transactions. Tim sits on the boards of V3 Systems; ObjectVideo; led the investment in Icode; and was on the board of The Kernel Group (TKG) which was sold to Veritas Software (VRTS) in December 2001. Tim is also on the board and is past chair of the Medical Care for Children's Partnership, a non-profit providing healthcare to the children of the working poor.
Peter Gyenes
Peter has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ascential Software Corporation (NASDAQ: ASCL), until its acquisition by IBM in April 2005. Peter was formerly Chief Executive Officer of Informix Corporation and led the sale of its database business to IBM and the subsequent transition from Informix to Ascential. Prior to Informix’s acquisition of Ardent Software, Inc., he was chairman, president and Chief Executive Officer of Ardent, which he joined in 1996. Before joining Ardent, he was the president and Chief Executive Officer of Racal Interlan, Inc. Previously, Peter served in executive sales, marketing, and general management positions at Data General Corporation, Encore Computer Corporation and Prime Computer, Inc. He serves on the boards of Applix, Inc., ViryaNet, Inc., a number of privately held technology companies, and the Massachusetts Software Council. Peter received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia University.
Alan Kaufman
Alan Kaufman was a founding member of the management team of Cheyenne Software, Inc., where as executive vice president of sales, he grew the business from $1 million in fiscal 1990 to over $200 million in 1997 to propel Cheyenne into the 13th largest software company in the industry. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of NetIQ, a leader in server and security management, as well as on the Board of Directors of FalconStor Software (NASDAQ: FALC).
Sol Suberi
Sol Suberi currently serves as the CEO and President of TriActive Inc., a systems management software company. Sol has nearly a decade of experience leading companies focused on systems management. Previously he was CEO and chairman of The Kernel Group (TKG), a developer of software solutions that enhance enterprise systems management acquired by Veritas Software. He also served as the president of Systems Management Solutions, Inc. (SMS) for six years, before the company was acquired by Platinum Technology (later acquired by Computer Associates).
Frank Gelbart
Frank Gelbart has over 20 years experience in enterprise software sales and marketing. Prior to becoming CEO of Appfluent in 2002, Frank held executive sales and marketing positions with both venture backed and publicly-traded software companies. As VP of Worldwide Sales at Entevo Corporation he spearheaded the company’s aggressive global sales growth which culminated in a $125 million acquisition by Bindview Development in February of 2000. As VP Marketing for CyberGuard Corporation, a publicly-traded Internet security company he oversaw product management, corporate marketing and business development. Prior to Cheyenne’s acquisition by Computer Associates for $1.2 billion, Frank was responsible for Cheyenne’s sales operations in Asia, Canada and Latin America.
