Appfluent Pre-Sales System Engineer

Appfluent, the pioneer and leader in usage-analytics, is seeking a highly motivated Pre-Sales Engineer with proven skills in software and services implementations at Fortune 1000 organizations. The successful candidate will be a key contributor and team member, and will work with some of the best minds in the Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing industry. Key Responsibilities:

  • As a key member of the regional sales team, work directly with one or more Account Managers to generate revenue by providing sound technical support and customer technical management.
  • Manage the technical pre-sales cycles, account qualification, support for customer evaluations, solution design, and development of integrated customer demos.
  • Provide pre-sales technical support by consultatively working with customers to plan and deploy the Appfluent Product Suite for Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and paid installations.
  • Deliver technical customer and partner training on the Appfluent Product Suite.
  • Provide post-sales technical support of the Appfluent Product Suite, by offering additional for-fee services as needed.
  • Provide technical content to support sales in proposal preparation and presentations during the customer acquisition process
  • Work with customers, product management and engineering to define new features, functionality, write new reports and products.

Qualifications:

  • Five years or more of related work experience as pre-sales systems engineer, systems integrator, or technical solutions consultant.
  • Integrity, candor, openness, and team player attitude is a must
  • Passionate focus on customer satisfaction and ‘win-win’ business relationships.
  • Experience with relational databases ( Oracle , DB2 UDB , SQL Server, and Sybase) is a must
  • Experience with business intelligence applications from Business Objects and Cognos is a plus
  • Scripting, C++, or C programming background desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, presentation and organizational skills

Location:

Working closely with the regional account manager, the Vice President of Sales, and other team members, the location and travel requirements for this position are:

  • North East Virtual, or Rockville MD Headquarters
  • Frequent Regional Travel (additional travel as required)
